A few weeks ago I was called upon to work with some teens at the Clane Youth Project. The aim was to create a huge wall mural spreading across the wall of a classroom and to have everyone involved. The idea behind the content of the illustration was based around an anti-bullying campaign that the group had been working on throughout the week. They wanted to create a positive and fun illustration that emphasised some anti-bullying slogans.
I worked with 24 lovely young teens over 2 days to finish the piece. It started with myself drawing the illustration out roughly on the wall and then they took it turns in small groups to come in and fill in with colour. We used acrylic paint to cover the walls which worked really well!
Everyone was delighted with the results and they ended up with a great custom illustration on their classroom wall to admire!
