RYDER CUP TUESDAY!

image

Well to say we’re excited would be understatement of the year!! The Ryder Cup is my single favourite moment of the year (and yes I know it’s only every two years), which makes the anticipation so much greater.

Suffice it to say we will not be moving from this spot from 7am til 8pm Sunday night!!!
Only 3 more sleeps:-)

BEER WITH DAVE: SIERRA NEVADA SUMMERFEST

SierraNevada_600px

Hello again!

In the last instalment of “Beer with Dave” I sampled one of the greats of Irish Craft Beer, McGargles Red Ale.

Today I have travelled slightly further from home to document another seasonal classic… ‘SIERRA NEVADA SUMMERFEST‘. Like the Anchor Summer Beer I sampled a few weeks ago, todays beer is only available for a few months each year. But it’s worth the wait! It’s a cool crisp lager with the hoppiness you expect from an American style beer.

I will leave it to Sierra Nevada themselves to give the perfect description of it.

“With a nod toward the original Czech tradition, Summerfest is brewed to feature the best of Bohemian nature. Crisp, golden, dry and incredibly drinkable, Summerfest has a delicate and complex malt flavor and spicy and floral hop character—the perfect warm weather beer.”

BEER WITH DAVE: MCGARGLES RED ALE

McGargles_600px

It was a busy weekend for us here in DoodleMoose Towers & what better way to unwind last night than to have a glass of one of my very favourite Irish Craft Beers which is brewed only down the road in Kilcock, Co.Kildare.

McGargles range of beers really are special but my personal Favourite is Granny Mary’s Red Ale. I’m sure the lads in McGargles celebrated themselves with one or two of these after an action packed weekend at the Irish Craft Beer & Cider Festival.

“Granny Mary is the fierce matriarch of the McGargle family, and it’s said she once knocked a fly off a cows arse with half a glance. She has a temper as fiery as her malt-driven red ale, balanced by bitter hops that give it a well-rounded taste. Without saying a word she could make or break your day, especially if you question her unshaking belief that dolphins aren’t real.”

Have a try & let us know what you think!

TGIF: Trains & Ukuleles

Week8_UkuleleGIF

Well it’s that time of the week again! Time to celebrate the impending freedom of the weekend. This weeks TGIF is partly inspired by our recent holiday to Wales, where we entertained ourselves daily by playing ukulele & taking the odd steam train journey.

Hope you enjoy!

Remember, we would love to see some other illustrated gifs, if you’re a digital artist, illustrator or creative and would like to give it a bash, we will showcase yours on our blog along with any links to your site etc! You can send them in to doodlemoosedesigns@gmail.com

WEEK 6 #TGIF {Thank Gif It’s Friday}

Image

It’s TGIF time! And this week it’s time to have a disco party with the one, the only Miguel Angel Jimenez & his now legendary warm up routine. If you don’t know Miguel he is probably the most charismatic golfer on the face of the earth. If he’s not on the links he’s sipping on a nice glass of Rioja or enjoying a fine cigar. We just can’t get enough of him here in DoodleMoose Towers!

WORLD CUP FEAST

Well, the World Cup is certainly in full flow now! And while the matches have been enthralling, here in DoodleMoose Towers we have gotten a lot of entertainment from some of the alternative representations of the games.

I think my personal favourite is from ‘Made at Haum’ who have illustrated the national desserts of each competing nation on a game by game basis.

Here’s a link to their website so you can have a look at the full piece:
